Beau-Coup Wedding Favors (www.beau-coup.com) plans to continue its tradition of charitable giving this holiday season despite the economic recession. The company, which specializes in wedding favors, baby shower favors & gifts and party favors, supplies and gifts for other special occasions, has announced its 2008 holiday giving program "$5 for 5 days." Through this new program the company will donate $5 for every purchase of at least $30 received between Monday, December 15th and Friday, December 19th to Second Harvest Food Bank, a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing food for low-income households and people in need. One hundred percent of Beau-coup's donation will go to the organization's annual Holiday Food and Fund Drive.
"We recognize that with many businesses cutting back on charitable contributions this year it becomes even more important for those of us who can, to give back to our community. We are proud to support our local community, especially in these tough economic times when they need it the most," says Beau-coup's CEO Judy Lin. In addition to the "$5 for 5 days" promotion on its website, Beau-coup is also hosting a food drive at its corporate headquarters in Mountain View, CA to benefit Second Harvest.
Second Harvest Food Bank CEO, Keith Flagler commented, "This season we are seeing an unprecedented number of calls for food assistance. Calls for help have increased by 55% while corporate donations have dropped 50%. We are extremely grateful for companies like Beau-coup for incorporating fundraising efforts into their business practices to benefit hunger relief organizations such as the Food Bank. For every $1 they donate we can provide 2 meals to people in need."
Philanthropy is a core value for Beau-coup; this year the company has already made a charitable donation to the March of Dimes and is currently hosting a Giving Tree through the Family Giving Tree organization. In the past, Beau-coup has also contributed to local and global organizations such as World Vision, UNICEF, Oprah's Angel Network and the Big Brother Big Sister as part of the company's on-going efforts in charitable giving.
