Yellow was all over the runways this past spring, which is great news for brides. Yellow is the color of sunshine and brings feelings of warmth and happiness to those who view it or wear it. When used alone, yellow makes an impact, when used as an accent; it compliments many other colors very nicely. Pale yellows are great for spring weddings, lemon yellows give a citrus punch to summer weddings and deep mustards are beautiful for fall and winter weddings.
This year, orange was the trendy wedding color, and it will continue into 2008. From creamy peaches and bright citrus hues to darker tangerines and burnt sienna - colors in the orange family all compliment yellow. This brings us to the next trend for weddings in 2008: the monochromatic theme. Yellows and Oranges look fabulous together; they complement each other nicely, and make an impact when used collectively.
To draw on the monochromatic theme in your wedding, select three colors with different saturations. For example, to incorporate this in your wedding you may want to pair a soft peach with a light yellow and a darker orange.
Chocolate Brown is also a color which has been and will continue to be popular next year. To go with a monochromatic theme select taupe, gold and brown together for an elegant feeling. Chocolate brown is also a neutral color which pairs nicely with both yellow and orange.
Keep in mind that if you draw your color inspiration from nature, and the season you are marrying in, your wedding will be beautiful. Colors drawn from nature are always fashionable, yet timeless. Ultimately, the color you select for your wedding should be something you are comfortable with. Select colors you will be able to enjoy in your photographs for years to come.
